We have a fun challenge for you.  Draw your favorite house - yours or a favorite in Ipswich.  We're looking for creativity, since we have such a wide variety of houses in our wonderful town of Ipswich.  Paint, illustrate, sketch - all mediums are accepted.  What's in it for you?  We'll publish your work of art online through our website and social media, give you a great t-shirt, and a chance to win the Grand Prize.

Grand Prize:  2014 Summer Camp Scholarship towards summer camp of your choice and a collection of art supplies for a total prize worth $300.

2nd Prize:  2014 Summer Camp Scholarship towards summer camp of your choice and a collection of art supplies for a prize worth a total of $200.

3rd Prize:  2014 Summer Camp Scholarship towards summer camp of your choice and a collection of art supplies for a total prize worth $100.

What:  We are looking for your sketch, coloring, or painting of the exterior of your own house or another favorite house in Ipswich.  Do your best work - we are anxious to see your creations!  Please keep the size to 8 ½" x 11" and be aware that the artwork will be scanned digitally (make sure it is dark enough).

When:  The contest runs from March 8th to April 30th.  The deadline for dropping off your artwork is 5 pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2014.

Where:  Drop off both your completed registration form and artwork to Windhill Realty at 16 Market Street.  Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 to 5 and Saturday 9 to 3.

All completed entries will receive a youth t-shirt.  A panel of community judges will determine the winners.  Winners will be announced the first week of May.  All the art will be on display from May 10-17th.  The final Art Show and Prize Pickup will be held on Saturday, May 17th  from 10:00am-2:00pm at Windhill Realty, 16 Market Street in Ipswich.

    Happy Halloween!

Downtown Ipswich Trick or Treat was a huge success! I estimate we had a record number of kids and attribute that to the nice weather, the impending hurricane and the buzz created by the pole decorating contest. The Chamber of Commerce reports that hundreds of people voted at the ballot station and the winner of the pole decorating contest was Salon36, who decorated with a white mummy on Market Street as a tribute to the fight for breast cancer.  A check for $250 will be donated, by the chamber, to the Ipswich High School Scholarship Fund in the name of Salon36 ! Congratulations to our neighbors at Salon 36 and thanks everyone for coming out and supporting local businesses!
