Cranmore Mountain Resort Cranmore Mountain Resort has drawn crowds from all round the world for over 65 years.  In the late 1930s 'The Father of American Skiing,' Hannes Schneider, took his first runs on the South Slope of Cranmore.  This put Cranmore and North Conway on the global map and made Cranmore the place to ski in the East.  Schneider soon started a ski school at Cranmore and taught the famous Arlberg technique he acquired in Austria to students from around the globe.
