After sharing the Best of Boston's best school list for 2013, I felt it was my obligation to also share NPR's recent report on how standardized test scores vs high school grades matter when applying to college. There seems to be some strong evidence that high school grades may matter more than SATs and ACT scores. The 'Spring Real Estate Market' also comes in the Winter, Summer and Fall! Every first quarter we meet with clients thinking about selling their homes, thinking they should wait for the Spring. Well folks, the time is now! Interest rates have declined over the past month, buyers are out and the market is in full swing.
Jay Jenkins of The Motley Fool gives us "eye-popping" stats! Web traffic to real estate websites was up 25% from December to 364 million visits! And like he says, "If you're considering selling and your home is not yet online, then every day you're missing out on thousands (or even millions) of potential buyers viewing your home." He's right! Every year we put our heads together and decide where to focus our giving efforts. We finished off 2013 with a bang!
Big thanks to YOU, our community for supporting the needs of others! Because of you, our food pantry received TWO HUGE donations of much needed supplies and Action, Inc. Shelter got a full wagon-load of coats. We also supported the Ipswich Humane Group Tree Jubilee at Marini Farm by collecting over $300 for our gift-card tree donation. Ipswich Caring received enough new books from us to help out about 16 families. Check out the photos!
