Hogwash!

The recent media storm that capitalized on a miniscule snapshot of real estate activity is not an accurate  representation of the current market in every community in Massachusetts. Read today's Boston Globe article about 10 towns and cities that thrived in July's market. Add Ipswich to that list along with many other towns on the North Shore! My team of agents are saying, "I've never been so busy in my 11 years of practicing (real estate) as I am right now!"  Thinking of buying or selling? Visit us online or come by for a visit and see for yourself!

Real Estate Tax!

Who had the biggest tax bill increase from 2009 to 2010 at 6+%!  Click on your town to see where you stand. Be sure to check out the 4 different views. Cool and interesting! (for a real estate junkie like me!)

Thinking about new windows for your home?

Don't forget that you may be eligible for a tax credit. This sudden chill in temperature got me thinking about new windows for my place so I did a little research and came across this article in the Boston Globe. It gives you the exact breakdown of how the tax credit works for exterior windows and other energy-efficient improvements. It will be September next week and the holidays will be here before you know it. Brrrrrrr.

Hotest Summer on Record!

And I'm not talking fahrenheit! I just took a look at our market share and Windhill tops the list! We are the #1 Ipswich office with the most Ipswich sales. Typically, Summer in Ipswich means boating in Ipswich Bay, the best fried clams, Cranes Beach, etc. But this Summer my team is cookin'! We've closed more transactions in Ipswich than any other Ipswich real estate office! All that from an independent, locally owned and operated business! Go team!

We can't help but get excited when we get the opportunity to help someone new to town call Ipswich home and share with them all that Ipswich offers. It must be contagious! Additionally, we have built such strong relationships over the years with the "Townies" they call us when they want to move, but stay in town. Now that's a sure sign of a great community! "Newbies" wanting to be "Townies" and "Townies" wanting to remain "Townies". Fried clams for EVERYONE!

Character Counts! Who IS this guy?

Last Friday some of my agents attended a packed seminar at the Seaport Hotel in Boston, MA. Coach Bill Hart was the speaker.   He's a sort of  life-coach for the real estate/loan officer profession. Read his bio here. This is the first I've heard of him. Lucky for me (and my team), they returned with the highlights of his presentation and gave a full report at our staff meeting this morning. They brought back some great ideas! I had to check him out for myself so I visited his website and video blog. I like his style. But what rang most true was this video about character. I identified with every word and want to share it with you. I've been around this business 20+ years, seen a few things and THIS is EXACTLY why I choose to work here. My team is made up of 20 individuals who strongly subscribe to this same philosophy in life and in work. I couldn't have said it better myself. Watch this if you want to know who we are here at Windhill. And thanks Coach Bill Hart; for speaking such truth.
