Ipswich -
The Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously approved plans for a three-story mixed commercial and residential building to replace the Ipswich News on Market Street.
Owner Shawn Cayer said he would begin construction on the new building as soon as possible, probably by early July.
Cayer needed ZBA approval for a lot line extension of 160 feet at the back of the building to square it off.
Architect Matthew Cummings will design the building that will fill the 2,144 square-foot lot.
The building will mix elements of Colonial, Federal and mill-style architecture.
Cayer plans office space on the first two floors and a two-bedroom residential unit on the top floor.
