Ipswich Business Organization Announces Scholarship Program - $3,000!

Local Ipswich BNI Chapter to Award A $3000 Scholarship to Deserving Ipswich Graduate!

The Ipswich BNI GoldCoast Chapter is offering a scholarship in the amount of $3,000 to a deserving Ipswich resident graduating from high school in 2012. Strong leadership skills in both school and in the community are essential.  A student's GPA is certainly a factor for awarding this newly established scholarship, but not the sole criteria.  The local business group will select a student who can effectively explain their understanding of the benefits of supporting local businesses and share how their future career goals could support a local economy, like the town of Ipswich.

"Our business group is excited to offer a high school senior a scholarship this year" said Christopher DeStefano GoldCoast Chapter President, and owner of Christopher's Table.  "Our successful group of 31 members is interested in the perspective of a budding young professional while also hoping to teach that it's not just the corporate ladder they should consider climbing in order to be successful," added Christopher.

The Ipswich GoldCoast Chapter was established in 2006 by founder Carrie Cayer of Windhill Realty.  The professional group, which meets weekly on Tuesday mornings at the Ipswich Country Club, is part of the global Business Networking International organization established over 25 years ago by Dr. Ivan Mieser.

With many small businesses scrambling to weather the recession, networking has been the key to cost-effective marketing.  In 2011, the Ipswich group successfully generated over a million dollars of revenue for one another, and this fiscal year the GoldCoast Chapter has already referred over a half million dollars.

Members represent and offer services on a local, regional and in some cases a national level.  Whether it is Kristina Brendel's awe-inspiring paintings at Time and Tide Fine Art Gallery or Mark Meaney promoting his keen private investigative services with Colonial Investigative Group, all members proactively promote each other and spread the good word about their products and services.

"Every Tuesday without fail we meet and learn how to best seek new business for one another," said BNI Treasurer Paula Bishop with the Beverly TD Bank office.  "It has been an invaluable resource bringing all of us through this difficult economic time," continued Bishop.

Applications are made available through the Ipswich High School or by contacting Carrie Cayer at carrie@windhillrealty.com or 978.500.6207.
