Downtown Ipswich Trick or Treat was a huge success! I estimate we had a record number of kids and attribute that to the nice weather, the impending hurricane and the buzz created by the pole decorating contest. The Chamber of Commerce reports that hundreds of people voted at the ballot station and the winner of the pole decorating contest was Salon36, who decorated with a white mummy on Market Street as a tribute to the fight for breast cancer. A check for $250 will be donated, by the chamber, to the Ipswich High School Scholarship Fund in the name of Salon36 ! Congratulations to our neighbors at Salon 36 and thanks everyone for coming out and supporting local businesses!

Not here in Ipswich! The Warren Group announces the median price for Massachusetts Single-family homes hovers around the $300,000 mark. Boston.com gives us the article(click here) but readers need to know the state-wide numbers simply don't jive with all towns. Just to give you one example of what's happening here on the North Shore, Ipswich rings in at a median sale price of $449,900 across the board for all 2012 single family home sales. We are still seeing multiple offer situations combined with a lack of inventory. Today's rates make it a GREAT time to buy and inventory levels make it a GREAT time to sell!
Team Windhill attended the North Shore Association of Realtors' 2012 Annual Meeting held at Colonial Hall at Rockafellas in Salem, MA. October is a GREAT time to be in Salem! It was an exciting night of food, fun and a look back through the decades; from the 1970's forward; the social culture, music, fashion and real estate market over the years. Being a 25 year veteran of the real estate business, I could relate to ALMOST every decade! NSAR did a GREAT job! A lot of effort and creativity went into the planning and execution of this event! Team Windhill advisors each received a pin representative of their years of service as a REALTOR®. We had a great time networking, socializing and celebrating.
The surprise of the evening presented itself when Betty Slatko was announced as the recipient of the "SHINING STAR" Award! The "Shining Star Award" is goes to the REALTOR® who demonstrates outstanding committee service and works diligently behind the scenes for the betterment of the members and the Association.
We are all so VERY proud to have Betty on our Team!
